Troutdale (Portland)

The great Columbia River gorge area. It had waterfalls, amazing woods, and of course the amazing  Columbia River. Also the Timberline hotel. We did the drive that circles Mt. Hood. We had a great RV site on the Sandy River. We grilled salmon for Laura Carol’s niece. We loved seeing her.

Check out the Timberline Lodge

20160708_152931A wonderful lodge built between 1937-1939. It has a unique intimate character. Opened by FDR.

Actually most Oregonians are extremely environmentally  conscious and wouldn’t dump pharmaceuticals into the water. When I first visited a campground in Oregon I saw many picnic tables with groups of empty beer bottles. A little tacky I said to myself.

A few days later the light went on. They recycle everything here. The campground has a trash bin, glass recycling, mixed recycling, and sometimes cardboard recycling , amazing  .20160708_103043
