Come to the Black Hills

There’s an attractive cluster of small cities in the Black Hills of South Dakota. They include Rapid City, Deadwood, Spearfish and Lead. Some big hotel chains are here in the Black Hills including Hilton, Wyndam , Holiday Inn and so on. There are great drives one can take, refurbished downtown areas, breweries, and with a short drive Mt. Rushmore. And….the Badlands. There are hikes, ski areas and buffalo, if you can find them.

If you want a close encounter of the third kind visit the Devil’s Tower.

Our first National monument, the surprise of the trip was the Devil’s Tower. Larger than expected, more impressive than expected, and visited as if it is a national park.
