Western Village Pennsylvania

Apparently this area was the site of the Whiskey Rebellion in 1794. https://www.history.com/topics/early-us/whiskey-rebellion.

George Washington personally led US troops down Walnut Bottom Road in 1794 to squash a rebellion against a new US whiskey tax. He was the last president to personally lead troops into an action. The US Constitution doesn’t allow our government many ways to raise money. A whiskey tax seemed like a good idea. But of course there was a rebellion. And of course today there is a bar called 1794 The Whiskey Rebellion.

The Whiskey Rebellion has an amazing bar tender named Laurel . I couldn’t stump her on any whiskey question. Below: celebrating Carol’s birthday.
