Valley of the Gods-Near Mexican HatValley of the Gods is a 2-hour hard drive between some awesome rock formations.Carol and the Goose Necks Above and BelowWe remember scorching hot days in canoes floating through these meanders. One day there was a distant low roar. It grew louder and louder until a Stealth Fighter appeared above us-crazy pilots. We canoed these Goose Necks, a meander of the San Juan River, many times in open canoes. We always stopped on our canoe trips at a restaurant in Mexican Hat where we always ordered a Navajo Taco and a beer unless it was election day, no beer on election day. I remember that day very well.Click on the picture above for more about THE HAT.
