Down South Winter of 2019

2019 January

Late December 2018 Carol and I were watching the same massive arctic air mass as everyone else in the country. So we decided to to go south to Las Cruces then El Paso then Stockton, Texas. We saw freezing rain, thick ground fog and winter cold.

San Antonio has been a thawing out period for us. We fixed a broken propane valve, topped off supplies. Look for the River Walk entrance for three days only to find we could access it from our RV park, jeez who knew.

The River Walk is several miles long , not just downtown San Antonio.

The River Walk is a high use area by San Antonio’s citizens. Downtown is where you find the tourist areas.

Tomorrow Jan. 5 we spend one night in Beaumont , Texas then on to Abbeville , La. near Lafayette La..

At Beaumont,Texas Cooper would stand and stare through the open door of the RV. There was thick fog outside and Cooper wouldn’t budge. Its said if the winds are just right in Beaumont you can smell both the paper factory and the oil refinery at the same time. Cooper wouldn’t go outside because of the smell. A horrid acidy petroleum smell that penetrates. Such a smart dog.

‘Stop blaming me for bad smells!’
