6/19  We stayed at a nice park on the Sacramento River.

Redding is a town of about 100,000 people. There are many trees and scrubs in Redding. We told one business person you have a great little town here. She was shocked at our complement. She thought Redding  was a terrible place to live. We didn’t ask her why she was living in Redding.

Why Go To Redding?

The Sundial Bridge is an amazing structure.  Sundial Bridge and Turtle Bay

• Yosemite is of course a magnificent park .
• As we left Yosemite there seemed to be a large number of cars and news crews climbing the 5000 ft rise  to Yosemite . Hundreds of cars  were racing  the 80 mile journey  from the interstate highway.  To my surprise the Obamas took the easy route to Yosemite on Marine One.  If you’re not the first family the easiest way to see Yosemite would be to stay the night in a Lodge close to Yosemite, then tour the park in your own car. Get an early start and beat the crowds.
